To handle projects for academic institutions has become an established tradition. Initial experiences in this field were obtained back in 1970 when we provided equipment and installations to universities in Brazil. Numerous other projects in all parts of the world followed suit. We have put these experiences to good use and developed skills for expert planning of laboratories. As a consequence, we have become a renowned engineering provider of planning services for academic training facilities.

To cite an example from the most recent past, we took on general planning respon-sibility for the Campus Project of the Jena Technical College. In this case, heritage-protected industrial buildings from the 30ies to 50ies of the 20th century had to be redeveloped and rebuilt for use as academic training places. The project was per-formed in two construction stages from 1996 to 2008. After its completion, Jena is able to boast one of the most modern centres of higher learning in Germany.
